Турнов

Turnov is an administrative district in the Liberec Region that serves as a municipal authority with extended powers. The district manages 37 municipalities and several smaller settlements across an area with mixed rural and urban character.

The district was established in 2003 as part of the Czech Republic's administrative reforms, bringing together municipalities that previously fell under different jurisdictions. This reorganization aimed to make local administration more efficient and better coordinate regional services.

The district contains numerous medieval structures, including Hrubý Rohozec Castle and Valdštejn Castle, which represent architectural heritage from different periods.
