Rosice Castle stands above the confluence of the Bobrava and Říčanský potok. Its main building encloses the first arcaded courtyard on all sides and is separated from its surroundings by a moat crossed by two bridges, north to the ornamental garden and east to the second courtyard, which is flanked by two free-standing newer wings, the southern L-shaped and the northern mirror-symmetric.

A small feudal seat is presumed here in the 13th century; the Hecht family built a Gothic castle in the 14th, destroyed during the Hussite wars and rebuilt in the 15th. Pertold of Lipá began Renaissance alterations in the 16th century and the Žerotín family completed them, leaving a two-storey main building and three wings around the second courtyard by the 17th century.

The castle now serves as a gathering place for the community and houses the municipal library that draws both residents and visitors. This blend of historical architecture with living functions shapes how the place is experienced today.

The castle is located southwest of Brno and is accessible by road and rail connections in the region. Its proximity to Brno makes it convenient for day visits when exploring the area around the city.
