Zámek Dačice, Renaissance château in Dačice, Czech Republic.
Dačice Castle is a fortified mansion in Empire style in the town of Dačice with a symmetrical facade and grand proportions. The building contains two extensive libraries with historical books and a ceremonial staircase of impressive scale.
Italian architect Francesco Garof de Bissone began construction in 1591 under the direction of Oldřich Krajíř. The building transformed from a Renaissance residence into a fortified mansion during this initial phase.
The castle preserves the von Dalberg family collection with furniture, portraits, and household items from the 1800s displayed throughout the rooms. Visitors can observe how the noble family lived through these authentic period objects and their arrangement.
The castle is open from spring through autumn and accommodates guided tours for small groups of up to nine visitors. Tours are conducted in multiple languages to serve international travelers.
The property features a 10-hectare park with a pond that blends formal gardens with natural landscape design. This combination creates a surprisingly green retreat beside the stone building.
