Střelecký ostrov, River island in Litoměřice, Czech Republic
Střelecký ostrov stands as a tree-lined strip of land in the Vltava River, connected to the city center by the Legion Bridge.
The island earned its name from its 15th-century function as a training ground for archers and crossbow shooters under the reign of Charles IV.
The island functions as an open-air venue for music events, outdoor film screenings, and summer festivals throughout the warmer months.
Visitors can access the island through stairs or an elevator located at the middle section of the Legion Bridge connecting Old Town and Lesser Town.
The restaurant building from 1812 survived multiple floods due to its raised basement design by court architect Josef Kliment Zobel.
