Tisy v Krompachu, Protected yew tree in Krompach, Czech Republic.
The ancient yew tree stands at a height of 7 meters with a trunk perimeter of 175 centimeters in the Lužické hory Protected Landscape Area.
Historical records from 1580 indicate the planting of this yew tree, which Hussite troops reportedly gathered under before attacking Oybin Castle.
The tree holds a central position in Czech natural heritage as it appears in the television documentary series about notable trees called Paměť stromů.
Visitors can find the protected yew tree on a slope near house number 127, surrounded by a protective fence in the village of Krompach.
The trunk structure resembles three merged stems, which explains its larger circumference compared to other yew trees of similar age.
