The school is commonly called "Ječná" after its street. It opened in 1949 as the Higher Industrial School of Communication Electrical Engineering, created by separating low-current branches from the Higher Industrial School of Electrical Engineering at Na Příkopě 16. It was Prague's first industrial school for low-current electrical engineering.
The campus is located near the I.P. Pavlova and Charles Square metro stations, providing good public transportation access. Visitors should note this is an active school campus, so advance arrangements are advisable before visiting.
Students work on real technical projects such as robot construction and server administration that go beyond the standard curriculum. These hands-on experiences help them become familiar with current industry demands.
