Tatrovice Reservoir, reservoir in Tatrovice, Czech Republic
Tatrovice Reservoir is a large body of water built in the village of Tatrovice in the Sokolov District of the Czech Republic. The dam holds water from a small stream and creates a wide water surface surrounded by rolling hills and forests.
Built between 1966 and 1969 on the Tatrovický potok in the Sokolov District, the reservoir was created to supply process water to the Vřesová industrial complex of Sokolovská uhelná. Until 2009 its water also served as drinking water for Vřesová and the complex, before the site was switched to the Sokolov water utility's supply.
The 200-metre dam is freely accessible on foot, and the reservoir lies 600 m west of Tatrovice, 3 km southeast of Jindřichovice. The surrounding beaches are sandy and grassy, and one of them is a nudist beach. The water reaches 25 m at its deepest point.
