Pivovar s vodním mlýnem, Baroque brewery building in Kokory, Czech Republic
Pivovar s vodním mlýnem is a baroque-style complex made up of several connected buildings in the village of Kokory. The site includes an old brewery, a newer malthouse, and a water-powered mill that drew power from a nearby stream.
Jesuits built the complex in the late 18th century and officially opened the brewery in 1761. The site continued operating and producing beer until the early 20th century.
This place was the center of village life for generations, where beer was made and grain was ground. Water from the nearby stream was essential to daily work and shaped how local people understood their surroundings.
The site is now protected as a cultural monument and can be viewed from outside. Check ahead with local information sources, as full access to the buildings may be limited.
In 1891 the facility was expanded with a new malthouse built on the western side. This addition shows how the brewery adapted to meet changing demands of the time.
