Jilešovice-Děhylov, Natural monument and protected area in Dobroslavice, Czech Republic.
Jilešovice-Děhylov is a protected natural area along the right bank of the Opava River, covering around 19 hectares of meadowland and riverine deposits. The site consists of open grassland bordered by the railway line to the east and connected to nearby towns by a local asphalt road.
The site gained official protection as a natural monument in January 2013 and became part of Europe's Natura 2000 network. This designation aimed to safeguard rare species inhabiting the river floodplain.
The area represents a traditional Czech landscape where meadows support the interdependent relationship between Myrmica ants, Sanguisorba plants, and Phengaris nausithous butterflies.
The area is accessible via an asphalt road connecting to route II/469, making it easy to find by car. The location sits near the western side of the Ostrava-Opava railway line.
The meadows support a rare butterfly species that depends on two other organisms to survive, creating an unusual three-way relationship in nature. This delicate dependence is why the area requires careful protection and monitoring.
