Villa Rothmayer, Cultural monument in Břevnov, Prague, Czech Republic.
The Villa Rothmayer features symmetrical windows, a rectangular plan, and a cylindrical spiral staircase designed by architect Otto Rothmayer in 1929.
Otto Rothmayer studied under Jože Plečnik at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague and served as an assistant architect at Prague Castle from 1921.
The interior of Villa Rothmayer contains Windsor chairs by Jan Vaněk and original furniture made by Rothmayer himself, reflecting Czech design traditions.
Visitors need to make advance reservations for guided tours of the villa, which underwent extensive reconstruction between 2009 and 2015.
The villa remained in the Rothmayer family until 2009, preserving original furnishings including a teapot given as a gift by architect Plečnik.
