Havlov, Historical hermitage in Žďárec, Czech Republic

The Havlov hermitage stands above the Bobrůvka River valley, surrounded by dense forests in the highlands of the Moravian region.

Built in 1908 by the Havel family as a summer residence, the wooden house featured a dining room on the ground floor and bedrooms upstairs.

During the 1950s, Václav Havel, who later became president of the Czech Republic, spent his childhood at this property and attended school in Žďárec.

The hermitage site, located 14 kilometers west of Tišnov, is accessible through local roads and maintains connections to surrounding natural landscapes.

The property included tennis courts and an outdoor swimming pool where notable Czech actors and writers gathered for social events between the wars.
