Jaroslav Ježek Museum - Blue Room

The Jaroslav Jezek Museum - Blue Room is a small memorial in the Old Town dedicated to the composer's personal space. It contains Functionalist furniture, a Steinway piano, and an extensive collection of books and musical scores.

The composer's mother and sister preserved the room as it was when he departed for the United States before the war. The space shows how he arranged his home during his lifetime.

The room displays personal belongings and sheet music with dedications from renowned composers, reflecting how musicians of that era connected with each other. These objects show how active the local music world was at the time.

The memorial is located on Kaprova Street and opens only on Wednesdays in the afternoon. It is a small space that can be explored quickly, but it is worth taking time to linger and absorb the quiet atmosphere.

The furniture was designed and stained black by architect František Zelenka to create strong visual contrasts that supported the composer's limited vision. This thoughtful design approach was an unusual solution for that era.
