Lucerna cinema is located inside the Art Nouveau Lucerna Palace complex in New Town. The venue has a main hall with 453 seats and a smaller auditorium with 51 seats.
The cinema opened in 1909 as part of Lucerna Palace, built by Vaclav Havel, grandfather of former Czech President Václav Havel. A second screening room was added in 2013.
The cinema attracts crowds for international films and Czech premieres that draw film lovers from across the country.
Both screening rooms feature 4K digital projection, 3D capability, and Dolby Surround 7.1 sound systems for quality viewing. The halls are inside the historic building and easy to locate by following the posted signs.
The smaller screening room displays portraits of renowned filmmakers and actors on its walls, honoring their contributions to cinema history. This gallery creates an artistic setting that enriches the viewing experience.
