Church of Saint Anne

The Church of Saint Anne is a Baroque building in the center of Jablonec nad Nisou with white walls and distinctive architectural details from the late 17th century. The interior displays typical Baroque fixtures with altars, pews, and decoration that create a solemn atmosphere.

The building was constructed between 1685 and 1687 and marks the beginning of permanent settlement in Jablonec nad Nisou. It remains the oldest preserved structure in the city and thus documents the early development of the place.

The church now functions as an exhibition space and concert hall, where a three-manual organ regularly sounds during musical performances. Visitors actively use the rooms to experience contemporary works and classical music.

Access to the church is through the Tourist Information Centre at Kostelní 1/6, where guided tours are offered. Visitors should note that the building may be closed at times due to concerts or exhibitions.

The southern facade displays a propitiatory cross and a Marian statue, which represent significant religious artworks of the region. These exterior elements are visible to visitors and tell of the spiritual importance of this place.
