Church of Saint Anne, Baroque church in Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic

The Church of Saint Anne is a rectangular single-nave Baroque building with a polygonal presbytery and a tower in the west facade. The presbytery has a barrel vault with lunettes, the nave a flat ceiling, and the organ loft projects on three sides. The interior furnishings date from the 19th century.

The church was built between 1685 and 1687; its tower was added in 1706 and the sacristy dates from 1842. In the 19th century it was repeatedly repaired and adapted in a historicising Neo-Renaissance style. Since 2004 the building has belonged to the town, which restored it.

The church is dedicated to Saint Anne and stands on Anenské náměstí, where a statue of the Virgin Mary of Karlov and a propitiatory cross form a group with the building. Since 2004 it has belonged to the city, which restored it; after a three-manual organ was installed in 2006, concerts and exhibitions have been held there alongside continuing liturgy.

The church stands on Anenské náměstí at the crossing of Kostelní, Soukenná and Anenská streets, opposite the old parish house in Kostelní street. The church forms a single ensemble with a statue of the Virgin Mary of Karlov and a conciliation cross, all standing on Anenské náměstí. The former old parish house opposite, in Kostelní street, dates from the early 18th century; a sculptural group of the Agony in the Garden, made in 1829 and brought from the village of Rádlo, was moved to it.
