Pašijová cesta, Stations of the Cross in Římov, Czech Republic.
The Pašijová cesta consists of 25 Baroque chapels spread across a 5-kilometer path, following the layout of Jerusalem's Stations of the Cross.
Established in 1658 by Jesuit pharmacist Jan Gurre, the Stations of the Cross expanded through construction until the first quarter of the 18th century.
Each chapel contains wooden sculptures and frescoes depicting significant moments of Christ's Passion, creating a spiritual journey through biblical scenes.
Between 2021 and 2023, the complex underwent extensive renovations costing 100 million Czech crowns, including the creation of computer-carved wooden statue replicas.
The stolen wooden statue of Apostle Bartholomew, missing since 1994, returned to the parish in September 2023 for display in the Pilgrimage Museum.
