Stekník Castle

Stekník Castle is a Rococo residence on a hilltop near Žatec with ornamental exterior details and richly decorated rooms inside. The grounds include terraced gardens on the southern slope that descend from the building in a structured layout.

The structure started as a medieval fortress and was converted into a Baroque residence in 1681. A comprehensive redesign to Rococo style in 1760 created the appearance visitors see today.

The castle displays its character through ornate Rococo interiors with frescoes and stucco details that visitors see in each room. Walking through the decorated spaces with period furniture gives a sense of 18th-century elegance and how nobility lived here.
