The Naučná stezka SOOS is an educational trail about two kilometres long with nine stops, running through the visitor-accessible part of the Soos National Nature Reserve near Skalná. It passes the Císařský spring, then turns left onto the road to Kateřina past the Věra spring and along the Muzeální narrow-gauge railway back to the Nový Drahov station.

The trail crosses the Soos basin, a peat and diatomite deposit in the Cheb Basin whose formation is explained at stops on the Cheb Basin profile and the diatomite seam. The route passes the Císařský spring and the mofety, vents where carbon dioxide escapes from the ground, and ends near the Věra spring by the Muzeální narrow-gauge railway.

The trail's nine stops are named after what they show, from the Císařský pramen (Emperor's Spring) to the pramen Věra, and the panels explain the Cheb Basin's geological profile. Some exhibits, such as the dinosaur display and the rescue station for injured birds of prey, stand in the museum building rather than on the path itself.

The trail starts about 200 metres from the Nový Drahov railway station, by the car park at the entrance to the reserve. It runs through the accessible part of the reserve past the Císařský spring, ends on the road to Kateřina, then turns left past the Věra spring and back along the Muzeální narrow-gauge railway to the station. Some panels, such as the dinosaur and museum exhibits and the rescue station for injured birds of prey, stand off the trail itself.

The trail's nine stops include a profile of the křemelinový štít, a diatomite (kieselguhr) deposit, and a section on the mofety, vents in the Soos Basin that release carbon dioxide. Panels on the salt-tolerant flora and peat-bog plants are separate stops, and some exhibits, such as the dinosaur display and the rescue station for injured birds of prey, stand off the marked route.
