Church of Saint Stephen, Catholic church in Bílá Hůrka and Malešice, Czech Republic

The Church of Saint Stephen in Bílá Hůrka is a stone building with Gothic architectural characteristics visible in its exterior stonework and structural details. Inside, it contains religious artwork and furnishings typical of Catholic places of worship.

The oldest part of the church dates from the 13th century, when it is said to have been built on the site of a former pagan sacrificial ground or burial place; the settlement was originally called Velká Hůrka. The church was rebuilt in the 18th century and again at the end of the 19th century, and the parish founded in the 13th century was rebuilt in the 20th century. The church, cemetery, separate bell tower, pseudo-Gothic niche chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes and mortuary are together a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

The church is the parish church of the Roman Catholic parish of Bílá Hůrka, and the adjacent cemetery holds the grave of the legendary aviator Vít Fučík (1733–1804), marked by a copy of an early 20th-century cast-iron cross. The site also includes a separate four-storey bell tower with the bells Zikmund and Marie, a pseudo-Gothic niche chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes and a mortuary.

The church sits in the center of Bílá Hůrka, easy to spot from the village roads and accessible on foot. The location connects easily to surrounding communities and nearby towns.

In the cemetery stands the grave of Vít Fučík (1733–1804), a legendary aviator, marked by a copy of an early 20th-century cast-iron cross. The separate four-storey bell tower houses two bells, Zikmund and Marie.
