Stork's Nest, Conference and recreation center in Dvůr Semtín, Czech Republic
Stork's Nest is a hotel and conference center in a repurposed farmstead with a distinctive circular arena at its core. The building combines functionality with nature-inspired design, offering hotel rooms, dining, a pool, and event spaces alongside recreational facilities.
The farmstead dates to the 19th century and sat abandoned and deteriorating for many years. A major renovation beginning in 2010 transformed the ruins into a working hotel and event center.
The name comes from storks that have nested here for generations and continue to shape life at the site. Visitors can observe these birds and see how the building's design deliberately echoes this natural presence.
The property is easily accessible with ample parking and facilities spread throughout the grounds. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended as visitors navigate between the various indoor and outdoor spaces.
The building incorporates substantial oak logs in its structure, creating a warm and organic appearance throughout. A large central skylight allows natural daylight to penetrate deep into the interior and visually connects indoor spaces with the sky above.
