Haná Open-air Museum

The Haná Open-Air Museum is an open-air museum in Příkazy that brings together traditional buildings from different parts of the Haná region. These structures display original wooden and earth construction from rural settlements across different time periods.

The museum was established in 1990 to preserve wooden structures and earthen buildings that were typical in this region for many centuries. It documents the building techniques that generations of villagers used here.

The buildings on display show how people in the Haná region lived and worked, with workshops, homes, and farm structures that reveal everyday routines. You can see the handcraft techniques and farming methods that were typical for local people.

The site is best visited on warm days when buildings are open and you can freely explore the outdoor grounds. Comfortable shoes are important, as you will walk over uneven natural paths between the structures.

Many visitors overlook that the buildings were actually transported here from their original locations across the region rather than rebuilt on site. This relocation allowed a whole village to be reconstructed without affecting modern developments around it.
