City Museum of Třešť

The City Museum of Třešť is a regional museum housed in a former granary building that displays historical artifacts and collections representing local heritage. The rooms contain objects from different periods that document the region's development.

The museum was established in 2003 as part of the Muzeum Vysočiny network and focuses on preserving objects and documents from Třešť's history. Its collection begins with materials from medieval times and documents the region's subsequent periods.

The museum displays traditional Czech craftsmanship techniques such as wooden toy production and regional artworks that continue to define local identity. These works reflect skill traditions passed down through generations of artisans.

Access is arranged through scheduled tours, and the facility accepts card payments since 2024 for admission. The on-site visitor information center can assist with planning group visits and workshops on regional culture.

The collection houses the largest gathering of Tesla electrical industry artifacts in Europe, showing the technological development of Czech manufacturing tradition. These artifacts reveal how the local region contributed to Europe's early electrification.
