Arnoldovská lípa, Remarkable linden tree in Arnoldov, Czech Republic.

The Arnoldovská lípa is a large-leaved linden (Tilia platyphyllos) in the vanished settlement of Arnoldov, right of the old road from Horní Žďár. Its dense crown reaches 22 m, and its hollow, flattened, moss-covered trunk measures 594 cm in girth (2014 measurement). At 2.5 m the trunk divides into two main limbs, one of which broke off and regrew from shoots.

The large-leaved linden was declared a protected tree in 2013 for its age, size and historical value; its age was estimated at 300 years at the time. It stands by the Vrbový potok in the former garden of a demolished house in the abandoned settlement of Arnoldov, right of the old road from Horní Žďár.

The tree stands in the vanished settlement of Arnoldov, of which only a ruin and former garden remain; the linden is the last living witness of the village. It was declared protected in 2013 as historically important, and its hollow, moss-covered trunk is a detail visitors notice.

The tree stands on a wet meadow in the former garden by the ruin of a vanished house, on the right bank of the Vrbový potok, right of the old road from Horní Žďár to the deserted settlement of Arnoldov. The site is reached on foot; the ground is damp and unpaved.

The trunk is hollow, flattened and covered in moss, and at 2.5 m it forks into two main limbs; one broke off long ago and regrew from shoots. A flexible binding secures the crown after treatment. The tree was estimated at 300 years old when it was declared protected in 2013.
