Kounic's palace, Renaissance Revival palace in Brno-město, Czech Republic.
The pentagon-shaped palace stands at the intersection of Žerotínovo náměstí and Moravské náměstí, featuring Renaissance Revival architecture with historicist elements.
Built in 1872 by architect Karel Exner, the palace was purchased by Count Václav Kounic in 1905 and donated to support students in Brno.
The building houses an Academic Cafeteria established in 1920 and serves as the central administration building for Masaryk University since 1995.
Located at Žerotínovo náměstí 617/9 in Brno, the palace maintains its function as an educational institution while preserving its architectural heritage.
The rental income from apartments in the palace funded the construction of separate student dormitories, including the Kounic Student Dormitory in 1923.
