New State House, Public building and archive facility in Veveří, Czech Republic
The New State House occupies a location at Žerotínovo náměstí and displays Neo-Renaissance architectural features across all of its decorated sides. The structure functions as an archive facility and administrative center for the region.
The structure was built between 1867 and 1878 and was designed to symbolize the region's growing importance during that era. Following its completion, it served various administrative purposes including housing a significant judicial institution.
The building displays sculptural representations of human virtues across its decorated façades that visitors can easily observe while walking around it. These ornamental features reflect the values that the builders wanted to emphasize at this site.
Access is available during normal business hours, and guided visits can be arranged upon request with advance notice. Some areas may occasionally be closed due to administrative work, so checking beforehand is recommended.
A special foundation stone incorporates materials from two different groups blended by a sculptor to represent cooperation and unity. Visitors often pass by this symbolic element without noticing the crafted details that reflect the artist's intention.
