Dymokursko – Bahenské louky, Natural monument in Dětenice region, Czech Republic.
Dymokursko - Bahenské louky is a protected nature monument spanning several municipalities and featuring diverse forest types and water bodies. A stream called Bahenský flows through the landscape, connecting oak-mixed forests with floodplain woodland areas.
The area received official protected status in 2014 to preserve its natural habitats and ecological systems. This designation secured the forest and wetland landscape for long-term conservation.
The area supports rare plant species such as Martagon lilies and globeflower that thrive in these wetland conditions. Visitors often encounter these delicate plants during walks through the damp meadows and surrounding forests.
The site is accessible on foot with trails leading through different forest types and wet habitats. The best time to visit is during warmer months when paths are drier and plant life is visible.
The site contains several rare forest types existing side by side, including acidophilic oak forests and ash-alder woodlands that do not typically grow together in central Europe. This unusual combination makes it significant for forest research.
