Church of Saint Giles

The Church of Saint Giles is a house of worship with a rectangular floor plan designed for straightforward religious practice. The building contains a single nave, a rectangular choir area, and a semicircular sacristy arranged in a simple and functional layout.

The building was constructed between 1820 and 1821 in the Empire style and replaced an earlier stone church from the 14th century. The previous church had contained two bells in its tower and had served the community for several centuries before this structure was built.

The church is dedicated to Saint Giles, a figure venerated in medieval Christian tradition. Inside, visitors can observe religious artworks that reflect the faith and devotion of those who have worshipped here over the centuries.

The building is easily accessible to visitors, with a ramp located beside the main entrance to ensure barrier-free access. The space remains actively used and regularly hosts religious services for the local community.

The organ was renovated in 2015 and is a work by Karel Zadák II, featuring historical pipes crafted in a tradition comparable to those made by master organ builders like Jan Mudroch. The instrument represents a continuity of fine craftsmanship that extended through the region for generations.
