Town hall in Nové Hrady

The town hall of Nové Hrady sits on the western side of the main square and combines architectural styles from multiple periods into a single structure. Its facade displays Renaissance features that were later expanded with Baroque additions and 19th-century modifications.

The building was first documented in 1593 and gained its present form through major reconstruction in 1745. This renovation introduced Baroque elements that overlaid the original Renaissance structure.

The building serves as the administrative hub of Nové Hrady and remains a focal point for community gatherings in the main square. It reflects how local government and civic life have centered around this location for centuries.

The town hall is accessible during regular office hours and its architectural details can be observed clearly from the adjacent public square. Visitors can freely explore the plaza area and photograph the facade from outside.

The structure survived the major fire of 1906 that destroyed large sections of the town and was later restored with financial support from Count Buquoy. This restoration allowed the town hall to be preserved for future generations.
