Tuchoměřice Château, Early Baroque château in Tuchoměřice, Czech Republic

Tuchoměřice Château is an early Baroque, rectangular, two-storey four-wing residence with an inner courtyard, completed in 1669 to a design by Giovanni Domenico Orsi. It largely kept the ground plan of the 16th-century Renaissance château. A single-nave Baroque church of St Vitus adjoins the north side; the courtyard arcades have full arches below and rectangular openings above, and a Baroque granary of 1711 and a stone cross of 1770 stand nearby.

A fortress on this site is first documented in 1436. The Služští z Chlumu family, who bought it in 1520, rebuilt it as a Renaissance château before 1615, when Jan Benjamin Služský sold it to Ota Jindřich z Vartenberka. He passed it to the Jesuit college of St Clement in Prague in 1624. After the Thirty Years' War the Jesuits had it rebuilt in early Baroque style by Giovanni Domenico Orsi in 1667–1669, together with the new church of St Vitus.

The château's name comes from the village of Tuchoměřice, whose fortress is first recorded in 1436. The Jesuits, who took over in 1624, planned a residence for four members of the order; such residences often ran small schools teaching catechism, reading, writing and arithmetic. Since 1998 the former Jesuit monastery has been used by the Chemin Neuf Community as a religious house.

Visitors can view the early Baroque building and the adjoining Church of St. Vitus from outside, and the courtyard preserves a Baroque granary from 1711 and a stone cross from 1770.
