The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a single-nave late Baroque-Classicist building erected in the second half of the 18th century on a raised plateau in the centre of Ústí nad Orlicí, near Mírové Square. Its facade, designed by Alexius Czyliak of Žamberk, carries a stone coat of arms of the Liechtenstein family, owners of the estate. The interior is dominated by the late Baroque main altar with a central painting of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, made in 1776 by Jan Dallinger von Dallingen.

The church replaced an older parish church on the same elevated site; the foundation stone was laid on 12 July 1770, and the presbytery and dome were finished by 1776. Dean Jan Leopold Mosbender initiated the project, builder Jakub Pánek designed it, and Alexius Czyliak of Žamberk created the facade with the Liechtenstein coat of arms. The Útěchová Chapel was added in 1870 and the sacristy in 1906.

The church is the main Roman Catholic church of Ústí nad Orlicí, standing on a raised plateau near Mírové Square. Its facade carries a stone coat of arms of the Liechtenstein family, owners of the local estate. The cemetery that once surrounded it was replaced in 1893 by a new town cemetery on the edge of town.

The church is centrally located in town and easily reached on foot from the main square. Visitors should plan to visit during service times and maintain respectful behavior inside.

The Baroque deanery beside the church was built in 1742–1748, before the church itself, whose foundation stone was laid in 1770. The church stands on a raised plateau near Mírové Square and has been a protected cultural monument since 1964.
