Town hall

Hostinné's town hall is a Renaissance building with a symmetrical tower adorned with sgraffito decoration that dominates the west side of the main square. The structure blends Gothic and Renaissance elements in its overall design.

This structure originated in the mid-15th century as the town's administrative hub and received Renaissance modifications following a fire in 1610. The 1525 transformation that added the tower marked a significant phase in its development.

The arcaded entrance displays a late Gothic portal window with historical measurement units from Czech and Silesian traditions carved into the moulding. These marks show how merchants once verified and traded goods in the town's market.

The building sits centrally on the town square and is easily visible from the outside, though it functions as the municipal office. Visitors can admire the exterior facade and decorative details without needing special access arrangements.

The major restoration work completed in 2002 preserved the sgraffito artwork on the tower facade, which had weathered many centuries. These scratched decorative techniques reveal motifs common to Bohemian Renaissance design.
