Church of Saint John the Baptist

The Church of Saint John the Baptist is a Gothic building in Slavonice that displays its facade with Renaissance sgraffito decorations from the late 16th century. Inside, you find traditional church architecture with an altar, wooden pews, and religious artworks that reflect its long history.

The church originated in the 13th or 14th century when Slavonice grew from a market village into a fortified settlement positioned between Prague and Vienna. The Renaissance sgraffito decorations were added later, showing how the building was maintained and embellished across different periods.
