Kopidlno Castle, Baroque château in Kopidlno, Czech Republic
The four-wing château stands within a 12-hectare park, featuring a central courtyard with pillar arcades and a Baroque lantern tower with an onion dome.
The original water fortress from 1527 was replaced in the mid-17th century by the current château, which underwent significant renovations by Count Schlik in 1875.
The château contains preserved wooden cassette ceilings and lining from the 19th century in two rooms of the west wing's second floor.
The building functions as a secondary gardening school since 1948, with interior areas modified to accommodate educational requirements while maintaining the original layout.
The château park includes a winter garden from 1894, modeled after the Schönbrunn palm greenhouse, and houses 170 different tree species.
