Rtišovice Castle, Baroque château in Rtišovice, Czech Republic

Rtišovice Castle is a rectangular Baroque structure topped with a hipped roof and small tower, surrounded by historical farm buildings that form a unified ensemble. The main building and its outhouses create a cohesive architectural group typical of rural estates from its era.

The site began as a fortress in 1491 and underwent substantial conversion to a château in 1738 when Jan Netvorský z Březí commissioned the transformation. The building was modified again in 1848, reflecting shifting needs across centuries.

The eastern wing houses a Baroque chapel dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk, which reflects the religious devotion of the castle's past inhabitants. This sacred space remains visible as part of the architectural ensemble today.

The castle stands roughly 2 kilometers southeast of Milín near road number 4, currently closed during ongoing restoration work. Before visiting, check whether the site allows viewing of the exterior or if access remains restricted during reconstruction.

During its industrial period, the property operated a sugar factory, distillery, and brewery, showing how it adapted to economic changes over time. This industrial phase reveals the practical flexibility of historic estates when faced with new commercial opportunities.
