Dolní Beřkovice Castle

Dolní Beřkovice Castle is a fortress turned castle near the Elbe River's left bank, featuring both Renaissance and Neo-Renaissance architectural elements. The building displays construction layers from different periods, showing how its structure evolved from its earliest form through successive renovations.

The site began as a fortress and underwent major transformation into a Renaissance castle in 1606. Nearly two and a half centuries later, in 1853, Neo-Renaissance modifications reshaped its appearance again.

The castle holds the status of a registered cultural monument and represents how this region valued architectural heritage across different periods. You can see these different building styles layered across its exterior and structural elements.
