Městská spořitelna, Art Nouveau bank building in Jilemnice, Czech Republic.
The Městská spořitelna features a corner single-story structure with bay windows and a tower, decorated with paintings by Jan Lev and Vladimír Hraba.
The bank, designed by architect Jan Vejrych, opened its doors in November 1911, replacing a wooden building destroyed in the great fire of 1838.
During the 1920s, the municipal savings bank contributed to regional development by supporting numerous cultural activities throughout the Jilemnice area.
The building remained operational as a financial institution until 2005, after which it became largely vacant except for an information center established in 1998.
The structure contains specialized furniture and decorative door fittings that demonstrate Vejrych's attention to both interior and exterior architectural elements.
