Mlýn Štampach

Mlýn Štampach is a two-story brick mill tucked against a sandstone cliff in a secluded river valley. The structure features a mansard roof and operates through water power channeled from the Pšovka River.

Construction began in 1756 when builders created a late Baroque mill structure at this location. An older medieval stone mill had occupied a different spot at the pond before this building rose.

The mill shows how craftspeople shaped their workspace around water and stone. You can observe the practical arrangement of rooms and equipment that defined milling work for generations.

The mill is reached by following a marked red hiking trail that starts near Střemy village. The path takes you through a valley, so wear comfortable walking shoes and allow time for a steady pace.

Two rooms are carved directly into the sandstone rock and date from the medieval period. Inside these ancient spaces you can still spot traces of the original hearth from centuries ago.
