Zámek Suchomasty

Zámek Suchomasty is a Baroque château with two stories and a mansard roof, set within grounds of an English park established in the nineteenth century. The structure blends classical architectural elements with its surrounding parkland.

Count Václav z Bubna transformed the original fortress into the current château structure during the initial decades of the eighteenth century. This conversion marked the shift from a defensive to a residential manor.

The château now serves as a facility for children with mental disabilities, continuing a long tradition of social support. This role shapes daily life at the site and shows how historical buildings adapt to modern needs.

The château is located in the Beroun District of Central Bohemia near the Koněpruské Caves and natural reserves of the Český kras region. The landscape setting makes it a convenient destination when combining visits with nearby attractions.

The grounds once held a brewery that produced substantial quantities of beer annually and shipped its products to Prague until 1966. This industrial operation was a significant part of the site's economic past.
