Obytce

Obytce is a Renaissance chateau with stone walls, formal gardens, and a riding hall designed by Johann Bernard Fischer von Erlach in the 17th century. The building displays the characteristic features of this period with spacious window openings and symmetrical facades.

The site began as a Gothic fortress in 1222 and was later transformed into a Renaissance chateau under the Liechtenstein family. This transformation reflects the cultural shift in Bohemian architecture during that era.

The estate shows how nobility in this region lived and displayed their status through architecture. You can observe this in the carefully designed rooms and the building's position within the landscape.
