Dub Château

Dub Château is a Neo-Gothic château in the South Bohemian village of Dub featuring a symmetrical stone facade adorned with pointed arches, ornamental windows, and decorative details from the 19th century. The building sits within a landscape park created in the mid-1800s that frames the structure with surrounding grounds.

The château was built between 1854 and 1860 replacing a medieval fortress that once stood on the same site. Its construction reflected the region's architectural transformation during the 19th century.

The château represents the architectural tastes of 19th-century Czech nobility and reflects how wealthy families expressed their status through building design. The structure stands as a marker of the region's social history during that period.

The grounds offer walking paths through the park surrounding the building, making it easy to explore the landscape and its layout. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes as the terrain is hilly and somewhat uneven.

The location sits near Spálená hill, which rises to approximately 595 meters in elevation, giving the property a distinctive position within the rolling landscape of the Bohemian Forest Foothills.
