Červený Dvůr, Baroque château in Chvalšiny, Czech Republic

Červený Dvůr is a single-storey, single-wing rectangular château with a symmetrical west façade about 120 m wide, its central section under a mansard roof with a balcony and triangular pediment. Ground-floor vaults survive from the Renaissance, and the Chinese Salon holds rococo wall paintings of 1756 by František Jakub Prokyš. A large rectangular courtyard is enclosed by low farm buildings, and a 117-hectare landscape park with a circular fountain lies east of the building.

Vilém z Rožmberka had a Renaissance summer house built here in the 1590s, possibly to a design by Baldassare Maggi; in 1598 Petr Vok z Rožmberka added a game preserve with a pheasantry. Under Marie Arnoštka of Eggenberg the house was rebuilt as a Baroque château with a northern wing and chapel. Schwarzenberg works followed: a sala terrena in 1748–1749, a new main staircase and unified façade in 1756–1760, and a southern wing with an honorary courtyard in 1779–1781.

The château has housed a psychiatric hospital since 1966, and the surrounding park serves as a therapeutic tool for patients recovering from addiction. A 3 km educational trail, "Zámecký park Červený Dvůr", has 14 stops explaining the park's history and development.
