Červený Dvůr

Červený Dvůr is a Baroque château surrounded by a park that spans several hectares with meadows and tree-lined paths. The grounds feature a series of interconnected water features including ponds, fountains, and lakes that were engineered as part of the original design.

The estate began in 1591 as a court residence commissioned by William of Rosenberg. In 1672, a major reconstruction gave it the Baroque style that still defines its appearance today.

The estate's name comes from its distinctive red roof, a feature visible across the surrounding landscape. Visitors walking through the grounds can observe how the layout reflects centuries of local tradition and use.

The château itself is closed to the public as it operates as a hospital facility. However, the park is open year-round and visitors can walk freely through the paths and around the water features.

The park conceals an intricate network of over 20 ponds and artificial lakes, an engineering achievement from the original construction period. A nature trail with educational stations guides visitors through the landscape and explains the design and purpose of this elaborate water system.
