Strossova vila, Art Deco villa in Kristiánov, Czech Republic
The two-story villa features pronounced cornices, terraced arrangements, and horizontal lines that give it a distinctive steamship-like form at Husova street 64.
Textile merchant Franz Stross commissioned the villa in 1923, but his family resided there for only eight years before departing due to rising tensions in 1938.
The building combines expressionist, Art Deco, organic, and eclectic architectural elements, showcasing the diverse design approaches of architect Thilo Schoder.
The villa currently functions as the headquarters for Krajská hygienická stanice, the regional public health authority of the Czech Republic.
The interior decoration incorporates multicolored marbles, opal glass, and exotic woods, creating a refined composition within its architectural framework.
