Žehušice

Žehušice is a château in the Czech Republic featuring traditional Bohemian architectural elements from its period of construction. The building displays multiple wings and interior spaces designed in the style characteristic of the 1800s.

Michael Osvald Thun-Hohenstein established the château and later created a deer enclosure on the grounds housing rare white specimens. This park was developed in 1867 and became an integral part of the estate.

The château is deeply connected to the surrounding lands, reflecting how the estate and its territories have shaped the character of the region. This relationship between the building and the landscape continues to define local identity today.

The building is currently undergoing reconstruction work, limiting access to the interior spaces. Check ahead before visiting to learn which areas are open and accessible to guests.

The adjacent deer park houses around 130 animals with distinctive coat colors, including rare white and rust-colored specimens that are unusual in the wild. This collection has been maintained across generations and remains remarkable for the region.
