Tomáškova vila is a three-story residential building in the functionalist style with clean facades, oversized windows, and minimal ornamentation. The rooms feel open and bright due to generous glazing that brings daylight deep into the interior spaces.

The building was constructed between 1931 and 1933 from designs by architect Jan Víšek during the height of functionalism in Central Europe. Its creation came at a time when modern architecture represented new approaches to living and working.

The villa is named after the Plzeň builder Karel Tomášek, who commissioned it as both a family home and the offices of his construction firm. Since March 2022 the Česal brothers have opened the interiors and roof terraces to visitors, so the building is seen today through guided tours rather than as a museum display.

The villa stands at the corner of Moravská street and Masarykova třída. Since 2020 it has served as an administrative building with a coworking centre, so visits are not a matter of regular weekday opening. Interior and terrace tours were opened to the public in March 2022 by the Česal brothers; check tour times before travelling.

The building was deliberately preserved and today operates not as a museum but as an active workspace with modern use. This demonstrates how functionalism is not merely architectural history but continues to serve as practical space for contemporary life.
