Bývalá Vyšší hospodářská škola, Former higher agricultural school on Lidická třída, Severní Předměstí, Plzeň, Czech Republic

The Bývalá Vyšší hospodářská škola is a school building from the early 1900s with clean geometric forms and practical layouts. The structure shows typical features of that era with symmetrical facades and functional interior arrangements designed for teaching.

The building was established in the early 1900s in response to growing demand for skilled training in agricultural methods. The school became an important institution for spreading advanced farming techniques among the local population.

The building served as a center for agricultural education and shaped practical learning in the region for decades. Its spaces still show how teaching and research in this field were organized.

The building stands on Lidická třída in Plzeň's Severní Předměstí, set back from the street behind a park with an ornamental pool and rock garden that Zápal laid out around it. It is a former school now offered for sale by Charles University, so interiors are not open to the public; the facade inscription "VYŠŠÍ HOSPODÁŘSKÁ ŠKOLA" and the park can be seen from the street.

On 3 January 1994 it became the first building by architect Hanuš Zápal to be declared a cultural monument. Zápal set the school back from two busy streets and surrounded it with a park holding an ornamental pool and an alpine rock garden, which appeared in period publications promoting Plzeň.
