Castle of Kinský in Valašské Meziříčí

The Castle of Kinský is a building featuring Empire-style architectural elements, located near the meeting point of two rivers. The surrounding English park contains mature trees and pathways that have shaped the grounds for generations.

Originally built in Baroque style, the structure was substantially transformed in the middle of the 19th century under the direction of the Kinský noble family. These modifications reflected the architectural tastes of that era and gave the building its current character.

The building has housed the Wallachian Regional Museum since 1949, showcasing exhibitions about local history and regional traditions. Visitors can explore how people lived and worked in this part of Moravia through displays and artifacts.

The building is located at Zámecká Street 55 in Krásno nad Bečvou and can be easily reached by car from nearby towns. Visitors should be prepared to walk through both the interior spaces and the surrounding park grounds with their mature trees and pathways.

The English park on the grounds dates from the late 18th century and preserves unusual tree species from its original design. This historic landscape garden shows how European garden design took root in this region.
