Church of Saints Simon and Jude in Arnoštovice, Catholic church in Arnoštovice, Czech Republic

The Church of Saints Simon and Jude in Arnoštovice was built in the 13th century in a transitional Romanesque-Gothic style. A tower was added to the southwest corner in 1732, along with a sacristy. In 1892 the church was extensively rebuilt to plans by F. Ohmann and R. Krieghamer.

The Church of Saints Simon and Jude was built in a transitional style in the 13th century and is documented as a parish church from 1352. A wooden bell tower was replaced in 1732 by a tower added at the southwest corner, together with a sacristy. A major rebuilding followed in 1892 to plans by F. Ohmann and R. Krieghamer. It served as a parish church until 30 June 2009 and is now a filial church of the Sedlec-Prčice parish.

A local legend credits the church and village to Archbishop Arnošt of Pardubice, ambushed by robbers in the nearby forest; saved with a hermit's help, he founded a church and settlement there. The tale is untrue, since the church already existed under Přemysl Otakar II. The church has been a filial church of the Sedlec-Prčice parish since 1 July 2009.

The church stands about 4 km southwest of Votice. Since 1 July 2009 it has been a filial church of the Sedlec-Prčice parish, not an active parish church, so services are not held here regularly. The tower, added in 1732, is attached to the southwest corner.
