Libenského Colonnade, Glass colonnade with mineral spring in Poděbrady, Czech Republic

The Libenského Colonnade is a covered colonnade built in 1936 to a design by architect Vojtěch Kerhart in the constructivist style. It takes the form of a columned hall with a flat roof, followed by a circular column pavilion topped by a dome with glass openings. The Boček mineral spring rises inside the circular pavilion.

It is named after Prof. Dr. Václav Libenský, founder of Czech cardiology and of the investigative and therapeutic institutes in Poděbrady. Its circular pavilion shelters the Boček spring, named after Boček of Kunštát and Poděbrady, founder of the town's branch of the Lords of Kunštát.

The colonnade serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors come to taste the mineral water and stroll through the distinctive glass structure. It embodies the Czech spa town tradition, where water takes center stage in daily community life.

The Boček spring sits inside the circular domed pavilion at the end of the flat-roofed columned hall, so you can fill a cup under cover in any weather. The colonnade stands in Poděbrady III, within the spa park, and the open hall lets you walk through between the columns.

The spring in the round pavilion is named Boček, after Boček of Kunštát and Poděbrady, founder of the Poděbrady branch of the Lords of Kunštát. The colonnade itself honours Prof. Dr. Václav Libenský, founder of Czech cardiology and of the Poděbrady investigative and therapeutic institutes.
