Tvrziště, Archaeological stronghold site in Dalovice, Karlovy Vary District, Czech Republic

Tvrziště is a circular fortified site about 11 metres across on a raised terrace east of the farm buildings in Dalovice. Excavated foundations of a rectangular tower measure 6.7 × 6.9 m, with walls 1.35 m thick of quarry stone and an entrance in the east wall reached by three stone steps.

The stronghold was constructed in medieval times as part of a network of defensive structures protecting important trade routes through the region. It remains a remnant of this historical defensive system that once shaped the area's security strategy.

The site is a protected archaeological monument; its exposed masonry was conserved and the area opened to the public after a 2001 survey by the Karlovy Vary Museum. Nearby stands the memorial Körner oak, named after the poet Theodor Körner.

The stronghold site lies on an elevated terrace east of the farm buildings in the western part of Dalovice, beside the Körner oak. The circular platform, about eleven metres across, was protected by a slope to the north and east and by a rampart and dry ditch to the south and west. The conserved foundation walls of the tower, 1.35 m thick, are open to the public; the ground is uneven, so wear sturdy shoes.

The tower's foundation walls, 1.35 m thick and built of quarry stone, enclose a ground plan of 6.7 × 6.9 m, with an interior of 4.27 × 4 m entered by three stone steps through a doorway in the east wall. The circular bailey around it measures about eleven metres across.
