Dlouhá Loučka is a castle ruin in the Olomouc Region with pronounced medieval fortification features. The complex displays deep moats reaching up to 18 meters wide and 6 meters deep, along with extensive earthen ramparts surrounded by dense forest.
The castle was first documented in 1267 as property of Boreš of Riesenburg, marking an important period of medieval ownership. Its decline began in the second half of the 13th century under Wenceslaus II.
The site displays typical features of medieval fortifications from this region, which visitors can still observe in the structure of the moats and earthen walls today. The preserved earthworks give a sense of how such defenses were designed for protection.
The site is freely accessible without entrance fees. It is marked on hiking maps and cycling route guides, which helps with navigation and planning.
The northeastern section features a large outer bailey separated from the main castle core by both a moat and an embankment. This additional defensive line reveals the layered structure of the fortifications.
