Church of Saints Peter and Paul, Gothic church in Chotoviny, Czech Republic

The Church of Saints Peter and Paul stands on raised ground in the northern part of Chotoviny, in the Tábor district, and dominates the village and its surroundings. The Gothic church founded around 1380 keeps its original triumphal arch and sanctuary; a tower was added in 1742 and the vault was repaired between 1781 and 1786. The family tomb of the Nádherný of Borutín lies at the rear of the church.

Originally built as a Gothic structure, the church underwent major renovation between 1781 and 1786. This transformation gave it the classical appearance that defines it today.

The church is the parish church of the Roman Catholic parish of Chotoviny, and Mass is held every Sunday at 8:15, which is when visitors can go inside. In the rear part of the building is the family tomb of the Nádherný of Borutín family.

The site is located in Chotoviny municipality and is easily reached by rail and road connections. Keep in mind that this is an active religious building, so respectful behavior is appropriate when visiting.
